UniqCast is expanding, and we are excited to announce two new full-time opportunities within our Support Department: Support System Engineer and Support Engineer. We are looking for talented and dedicated engineers to join our growing team.

Support System Engineer’s job duties and responsibilities:
- Backend system software upgrade & configuration change tasks:
- Locatesting and preparation for production upgrades
- Production SW upgrade or configuration change tasks
- Internal planned support activities:
- Monitoring stack improvements (Prometheus, Grafana, custom exporters)
- Advanced troubleshooting (textual log filtering, tcpdump, wireshark)
- Advanced issue analysis
- Bottleneck analysis
- Security improvements
- Paid passive on-call support (only for critical issues and projects with 24/7 support)
Support System Engineer job requirements and qualifications:
- System administration skills
- Analytic skills
- Technical troubleshooting skills
- Resourcefulness and independence
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment
- Good knowledge of Linux
We expect the ideal Support System Engineer candidates to be well acquainted with some of these technologies and have the capability to master those they have not yet used:
- Experience with Linux OS is required (at least basic level)
- Scripting: knowledge of scripting languages is big plus (at least Bash)
- Analytical skills in analyzing and understanding reported problem
- Networking experience (TCP/IP) is big plus
- Docker service virtualization experience is a plus
- Orchestration platforms on which our applications work: Docker Swarm or Kubernetes
- Experience with various databases (We use: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Opensearch)
- Experience with CI/CD - ( Our stack: Bitbucket (Git), Jenkins, Jira)
- Experience in IPTV/OTT or other video delivery systems is big plus
Support Engineer job duties and responsibilities:
- Platform monitoring activities:
- Identifying anomalies and negative trends on Grafana metrics
- Alerts analysis
- 2nd and 3rd level support:
- Processing customer reported Jira tickets
- Local issue reproduction of reported issues and reporting issues to development
- Coordination with 3rd level support (internal and external)
- Delivery of new application versions to UniqCast customers:
- Build (Jenkins) & delivery
- Promotion and communication about new application versions and new features with customers
Support Engineer job requirements and qualifications:
- Resourcefulness and independence
- Systematic approach to issue analysis
- Analytic skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Technical troubleshooting skills
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment
- Good communication skills, including good written and spoken English knowledge

- Experience with CI/CD - (Our stack: Bitbucket (Git), Jenkins, Jira)
